Titanes en el Ring - Titans on the Ring

¿Qué loco, no? ¿Se imaginan hacerlo ahora?

This is so craaaazy!

This belongs to an era when Israel's image was much better than now in Argentina. Oh, those good old times!

An Argentinian TV show about catch (like WWF) for children was called Titanes en el Ring (Titans on the Ring), and it was created by Martin Karadagian (who was a juvenile champion of Greek fighting - BTW he made the Armenian Argentinian community very proud). Well, in 1963, in the troupe (the group) was Renee Tenenbaum, the Israeli fighter (on the side of the good guys) and Tuffic Memet, the Arab fighter (on the side of the bad guys). Tenenbaum used a shirt with the star of David and he was a gentleman. Tuffic went out in a tent and with odalisques, and he played dirty. The fight among them was one of the classics. Every fighter had a song. That is the best part of the story, read and listen:

Renee Tenembaum
Renee Tenenbaum (song)

Shout with Tenenbaum, dance with Tenenbaum,
that brings us memories from Israel,
Shout with Tenenbaum, sing with Tenenbaum,
remembering all the childhood,
Shout with Tenenbaum, dance with Tenenbaum,
the joy will reign with himl,
Shout with Tenenbaum, sing with Tenenbaum,
that brings us memories from Israel,
Tenenbaum is emissary*, of the Star of David....

* Emissary could be sheliah? (sheliaj is the person that helps people who want to immigrate to Israel)

Tuffic Memet

He comes from the dessert, brings a lot of sand, Tuffic Memet, Tuffic.
He thrust his chest out a lot, that is a shame, Tuffic Memet, Tuffic.
Don't thrown sand in the eyes, no don't throw it.
They say that he is very clean, but he plays dirty, Tuffic Memet, Tuffic.
He suffers when he losses, enjoys when he hits, Tuffic Memet, Tuffic.
